Undoubtedly perceptions of organizational support (otherwise known as “POS”) are an integral part of creating a prosperous work environment with high job satisfaction. Organizations must strive to implement a research-based approach using eight evidence backed up techniques (Scandura, 2021). Leaders must work hard to create an organization that: 1) “[Implements] supportive workforce services…” 2) is fair and equitable, 3) sets achievable goals, 4) offers individual benefits, 5) supports employees in supervisory roles, 6) trains team members to be supportive, 7) promotes social networking, and 8) starts with strong organizational support from the moment of employment (Scandura, 2021, p.87). Employers that are successful in increasing POS gain “employees with…more helpful behavior…” (Scandura, 2021, p.87). When employees feel they are part of a team and have a positive perception of organization support they are more likely to see their leaders as people who are warm, relatable, supportive, and aware of their needs. I look forward to working with an organization that takes an interest in their employees plus their families and creates room for growth by promoting within, creating higher employee happiness.
In Conclusion, organizations must work to foster a work environment that gives employees meaning, improves commitment to common goals, fosters employee engagement, and increases the overall perceptions of organization support; all of which are critical to ensuring organizational health.
